Ukrainian President welcomes new US sanctions against Russia
President Petro Poroshenko has welcomed the introduction of new US sanctions against Russia.
"Every unlawful and illegitimate act of the Kremlin, whether in the Crimea, the Donbas or Salisbury, will continue to receive our solid, firm and resolute response on both sides of the Atlantic," the President wrote on Facebook.
He stressed that interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states, including electoral processes, has already become routine for Moscow.
"Ukraine has fully felt this Russian mania. Raising its hopes for impunity, Moscow is moving away from camouflaged cyber-attacks to organizing electoral farces in the occupied Ukrainian Crimea," Petro Poroshenko added.
Earlier, the US imposed sanctions against "Putin’s Cook" and his "troll factory". As part of the strengthening of measures to combat and counteract cyber-activity in Russia, the US Department of the Treasury has included five Russian legal entities and nineteen individuals in its sanctions list.
