US intelligence: Russia spreads fake news
US intelligence services believe that Russia helped to disseminate fake and distorted news to undermine the credibility of the elections in the United States, BuzzFeed News reported, citing two sources from intelligence services.
"They do it all the time, it is a known fact," one source stated.
"It goes beyond propaganda, as far as I can understand it,” another intelligence source stated.
The author of the article noted that neither intelligence source answered how, exactly, Russia spreads fake news. According to both of them, the US intelligence community is sure that Russia spreads deliberately false information; however, the FBI has not initiated a special investigation into the matter.
