US Congress passes bill on combating Russia's interference throughout the world

The US House of Representatives approved a bill of directions concerning American Intelligence activity with the aim of resisting Moscow’s political interference throughout the world. On Wednesday, November 30th, 390 representatives voted in favor of the adoption of a document that defines national security threats, and about 30 voted against it.

The bill contains a proposal to create an inter-ministerial committee, whose task will be to deter Russian attempts to "exert hidden influence on people and governments", namely to expose false information, agents of influence, corruption, raise awareness about human rights violations, terrorism, and murders, “committed by the secret services or political elites of the Russian Federation, or their appointees."

Separately, it was proposed to restrict opportunities for accredited Russian diplomats and to consular employees for travel through the US without special permission for a distance of more than 25 miles from the place of service.

The AP agency reports that the bill is expected to be adopted by the Senate.
