Ukrainian Media: New Prosecutor General spotted wearing a $30,000 watch at a parliamentary hearing
While delivering a report on the investigation of corrupt schemes, the new Ukrainian Prosecutor General, Yuriy Lutsenko, allegedly wore a watch worth 30,000 US dollars, as reported by the Ukrainian Ukrainski Novyny (Ukrainian News) news portal.
“The Prosecutor General came to Verkhovna Rada to deliver a report requesting removal of parliamentary immunity from Oleksandr Onyshchenko, who is under investigation over corrupt schemes in the Ukrainian gas market. The Prosecutor General had a Ulysse Nardin white gold watch,” Ukrainski Novyny reported.
The watch comes in gold and white gold versions. A similar model gold watch can be bought in Ukraine for about 761,410 Ukrainian hryvnia which is approximately $30,400.
Lutsenko's salary is 35,000 hryvnia per month, approximately $1,410, or $16,920 per year.
