$3 million that Ukraine received from Gazprom will become part of the state budget
The State Executive Service of Ukraine received $3.069 million from Gazprom, which will become part of the state budget, as part of the fine imposed by the AMCU (Anti-Monopoly Committe of Ukraine) on the Russian company, as reported by Serhii Shklyar, the Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine on Executive Service.
“The decision on Gazprom, which was made by the AMCU for $ 6.5 billion and which was later the subject of consideration in the economic courts, was submitted to the State Executive Service and is now being executed. We have received $ 3,069 million from the debtor and transferred it to the state budget. We will carry out further executive actions towards this effort,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
As reported, the Kyiv Commercial Court awarded $ 3.069 million in dividends from Gaztransit PJSC (Kyiv) (partially owned by the Russian Gazprom) as a part of the fines assessed by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.
Gazprom and Naftogaz own 40.2174% of Gaztransit and another 19.5652% shares in the Turkish company Turusgas.
In January 2016, the AMCU fined Gazprom PJSC for $3.26 billion for abusing their monopoly position in the Ukrainian natural gas transit market. This judgment was confirmed by Ukrainian courts several times. On February 22nd, the Kyiv Commercial Court of Appeal once again upheld the lower court's judgment to assess a fine against Gazprom that had already grown to $ 6.4 billion as a penalty for its non-payment.
