Trade turnover between Russia and China fell by 17 percent
According to the report of China’s General Administration of Customs (GAC), the Russian-Chinese trade turnover decreased in July, 2016 by 15% in annual terms.
The total amount of trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $5.67 billion, of which China's exports to Russia were valued at $3.3 billion while imports from Russia to China were pegged at $2.3 billion.
These facts indicate that by the end of the first half of this year, total trade turnover declined by 0.9% relative to the index of 2015 and reached $37.4 billion. It is noted that from January to July, China's exports to Russia grew by 7.7% and imports from Russia fell by 8.8%.
In July last year, the volume of trade between the countries amounted to $6.64 billion.
The downward trend in trade between Russia and its largest trading partner, China, has been observed for several years. At the end of 2015 the total trade turnover between the two countries decreased by 27.8% and amounted to $64.2 billion.
