The Times: Investigation into Russia Today has been initiated in Great Britain
A recent story on the Russia Today channel about an energy company allegedly disposing of toxic waste on the coasts of Africa has caused an investigation to be initiated against the Russian TV channel on the suspicion that the channel provides false information.
On September 13th, The Times announced that the channel will be checked for adherence to the principles of objectivity and impartiality. The reason for the investigation was a story on the channel about the British energy company Cuadrilla in which it was stated that the company threw toxic waste on the coasts of Africa. "There is no truth in this statement,” The Times notes.
Earlier reports stated that British communications regulator Ofcom found violations of TV broadcasting regulations by Russia Today in at least 15 cases.
