Russian government agrees to integrate some South Ossetia military units into the structure of the Russian Armed Forces

The Russian Government will present the draft agreement on the entry procedure of South Ossetia military units into the structure of the Russian Armed Forces to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. The corresponding document was published on the government’s official website.

“In this agreement, the entry of units into the structure of the Russian Armed Forces allows for the recruitment of citizens for military service in the Russian Armed Forces under contract, where they would be sent to Russian military bases to perform their military service on a voluntary basis,” the text of the document says.

When entering into such a contract, a citizen would be dismissed from military service in the Military of South Ossetia, thereby agreeing to further military service in accordance with Russian legislation.
