Blockade of Russian trucks continues in western Ukraine

It was reported on the Facebook page of the All-Ukrainian Union Svoboda on the 2nd of March that the blockade of Russian trucks continues in the Chernigov, Lviv, Rivne, Sumy, Volyn and Chernivtsi regions of western Ukraine. According to a published report, on the 1st of March, the activists of Svoboda blocked the passage or turned away 30 Russian trucks.

“After dark and in connection with deteriorating weather conditions, nationalists patrolled the border area in mobile groups,” the report indicated. In Lviv, at the entrance to the regional center of Stryi, one Russian truck broke through the checkpoint of the nationalists at high speed and under police escort.

Another truck has passed the checkpoint of the All-Ukrainian Union Svoboda near Baturin, in the Sumy region also at high speed and under police escort with lights flashing, the published report says. Moreover, the Ukrainian nationalists claim that Russian drivers have reloaded goods onto vehicles with Belarusian license plates while in Belarus in order to gain free passage through Ukraine.

Ukrainian Ministry claims that everything is good

On the same day, it was reported on the website of the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure that Russian cargo transport moves freely throughout Ukraine. The police provide escorts on the routes between Bachevsk-Uzhgorod and Bachevsk-Reni, and peaceful protests are not blocking the movement of trucks. Ukrainian trucks also move freely through the Russian Federation, the statement claims.
