Romania is concerned by the increase in Russian activity near NATO’s eastern borders
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Sebastian Neculăescu, stated during discussions within the Warsaw Security Forum that Romania is strengthening military cooperation with neighboring countries and NATO partners due to the increase in military activity near the eastern flank of the Alliance, as reported by Evropeyskaya Pravda.
“We see the greatest threats from the east and south, of course; the events that we had witnessed in the east are the major concern for Romania. The lack of confidence and predictability, the violation of international laws and the build-up of military activity are matters of growing concern,” Neculăescu said.
“We want to strengthen cooperation in the region and initiated the working platform with Poland for this purpose. We will organize a multinational brigade with them in order to strengthen NATO’s presence in the eastern flank,” the Minister added.
