Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Kyiv and Warsaw being put at odds
The Polish Foreign Ministry has stated that during a meeting with President of the Ukrainian World Congress Eugene Czolij, Polish Undersecretary of State Bartosz Cichocki claimed accusations that the Polish authorities have attempted to block the European integration of Ukraine are part of a hybrid war being waged against Poland.
"In reality, groundless accusations against the Polish authorities regarding the alleged obstruction of the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine on the one hand, and little attention to the affairs of commemoration, exhumations and other historical issues on the other, is an important element of the hybrid war that is being waged against our state," said Cichocki.
According to him, this is due to the growing influence of Warsaw in the international arena.
"The reality of involvement in campaigns in Ukraine and Poland that are externally managed should cause reflection in the relevant institutions," said the Polish undersecretary.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry, Witold Waszczykowski, said that Poland would veto a potential entry of Ukraine into the European Union if historical issues and minority rights issues were not resolved.
In connection with Waszczykowski 's statement, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited the Polish Ambassador, Jan Peklo, for a discussion.
