Leaked report warns Russian weapons are more powerful than their British counterparts

According to leaked documents, a British military study has determined that Russian weapons, including missile defense systems and artillery, are more powerful than their British equivalents, The Guardian reported.

The report, which was seen by The Times, noted that the UK and its NATO allies are “scrambling to catch up” with Russia’s electronic warfare capabilities.

The report, which was produced in March by General Sir Nick Carter, outlined how Russia uses Ukraine as a testing ground for prohibited weapons and to practice “new methods of warfare.” It highlights ways in which the UK can counter Russia’s new strategy of hybrid warfare.

The documents also recommended that British soldiers be made aware of the use of manipulative online tactics on social media pages.

“The British army conducts regular reviews of potential scenarios in order to improve its readiness to both protect UK influence and protect our people,” an Army spokeswoman said.

General Sir Richard Shirreff, the UK’s former top officer in NATO, told the Times “What we get from successive governments has been that it is all fine and dandy and ‘aren’t we doing well’. Actually, the reality is that our capability has been dramatically hollowed out.”
