For the first time in 25 years, the US did not sent congratulations on Russia Day
The Russian Embassy in the United States confirmed that for the first time in 25 years they did not receive any congratulations from US authorities on Russia Day, as reported by RIA Novosti news agency.
"We can confirm that we have not received a congratulatory message from the United States on the Day of Russia. This is the first time this has happened in living memory. Draw your own conclusions," said embassy representative Nikolai Lakhonin.
Earlier, it was reported that the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko regarded the launch of visa-free travel with the EU on the eve of the Day of Russia as a very symbolic event.
