Kremlin: new Russian armament program is a good answer to NATO’s military buildup

The state armaments program has already been signed by the President, Dmitry Rogozin, Deputy Prime Minister responsible for military-industrial sector, reported.

This year will be the first year of the implementation of the new state armaments program for 2018-2028. It was reported that its volume will reach 19 trillion rubles (334 billion dollars), which is on annual average value comparable to previous state armaments program.

"Yes, the document has been signed by the President," he said in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper.

Rogozin noted that the huge difference of the new program from the existing one is that in recent months the project of the state armaments program has been adjusted based on the input data received in Syria. According to him, the comprehensive evaluation of weapons and equipment was carried out in combat conditions; the combat efficiency of new systems and complexes was tested under extreme external factors.

"...One should not turn a blind eye to the build-up of NATO's military potential, the implementation of the US concept of "global strike", the intention to place weapons in outer space, and the deployment of strategic non-nuclear systems of precision weapons. We will have a decent answer to all this, believe me," Rogozin added.
