Kremlin accuses Belarus of illegal food supplies to Russia

The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) announced that they continue to detect illegal food supplies from Belarus. “Currently, the Rosselkhoznadzor continues to analyze controlled products deliveries from Belarus to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic transiting through the territory of the Russian Federation. As a result, the investigators have identified another intermediary company JSC Milkilakt, which carries out illegal deliveries of Belarusian products to Russia using the “false transit” scheme to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, “reads the report on the agancy’s website.

According to the report, “in order to prevent false transit”, the Rosselkhoznadzor changed the conditions for the specified intermediary company’s goods delivery to the addresses of Kyrgyz and Kazakh recipients.” From now on, "the controlled goods will be able to pass only after the Republic of Kazakhstan or Kyrgyzstan state veterinary services confirmation that they intend to accept the products supplied by this intermediary."

Rosselkhoznadzor has repeatedly made its claims against the Belarusian companies, which are supplying products to the Russian market. In response, Minsk authorities continue to accuse the Russian Federation regulatory authority of lobbying Russian producers’ interests as well as unfriendly attitude towards Belarus.

On April 11, Alexander Lukashenko, at the government session with the economic bloc of the country, compared the Rosselkhoznadzor attempts to close the Russian market with sanctions. “The good that we do for the Russian Federation is constantly repaid by evil actions towards us. They have become impudent to such an extent that they begin to twist our arms, ”at the time said the Belarusian leader.
