Russia's Gazprom claims it is ready to build Nord Stream 3 pipeline
Gazprom is ready to construct Nord Stream 3 if the European Union confirms the need for Russian gas, as stated by Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom Alexander Medvedev on channel Russia-24.
“We have proven reserves, we have transportation, we are building new transport routes. If Europe expresses its needs and is ready to sign the necessary contracts, I won’t rule out the need for more new gas transportation projects such as Nord Stream 3,” RIA Novosti cites Medvedev.
Currently, the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline that would link Russia and Germany while bypassing other transit countries is being built under the Baltic Sea.
