“We see an opportunity to further develop rails and large-diameter pipes, delivery of slabs is continuing, even despite the newly imposed tariffs. Therefore, we do not have any immediate plans to sell,” Frolov said.
EVRAZ North America includes six production sites. They are located in the US cities of Portland and Pueblo, as well as in Regina, Calgary, Camrose and Red Deer. On August 8th, the US State Department announced the introduction of new sanctions against Russia, that should take effect on approximately August 22nd. Washington stressed that Russia used the poisonous substance “Novichok” in the British city of Salisbury and thereby violated international law. Restrictions will affect Russian goods related to the US national security. If Russia within three months does not provide guarantees that they will not use chemical weapons, and will not allow international inspectors, then a second round of sanctions will come into effect.
