DPR imposes sanctions on LPR

Authorities of the so-called DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic) have banned the import of excisable goods (vodka, cigarettes, petroleum products and liquefied gas) from the LPR (Luhansk People’s Republic).

"Resolution of the Council of Ministers" No. 16-12 of December 7 entered into force on December 27.

"To prohibit the importation into the territory of the DPR of excisable goods, regardless of the country of origin (with the exception of transit to the territory of the Russian Federation), through the check points at the administrative border of the DPR and the LPR," the document says.

The Council of Ministers of the DPR also decided to mirror any response by the LPR government to possible bans and restrictions on imported goods from the territory of the DPR.

"In the event of prohibitions and restrictions by the LPR on the importation of goods and other items from the territory of the DPR, similar prohibitions on the importation [of goods] into the territory of the DPR from the territory of the LPR will be established by normative legal acts of the DPR with respect to the same goods and other items," said the resolution.
