Czech Republic extradites Russian hacker to the US

According to the Respekt radio station, the Czech Republic extradited Russian Yevgeniy Nikulin to the United States. US authorities have accused Nikulin of cyber-attacks and the theft of user data. Respekt reported that the final decision was made during the visit of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Paul Ryan to Prague.

Nikulin's attorney, Martin Sadilek confirmed to RIA Novosti that the Russian was indeed extradited. The defender stressed that the decision was made by the Minister of Justice, Robert Pelican. Sadilek claimed he was not informed of the decision. According to Sadilek, Nikulin was sent to the US on the eve of March 30.

The court in the Czech Republic arrested Nikulin in October 2016 at the request of the FBI. The California court issued a warrant for the arrest of a Russian suspected of hacking LinkedIn, Dropbox and Formspring and of stealing user data.

The Russian government had also sought Nikulin’s extradition. In Russia, he was accused of stealing $3,450 from a digital wallet in 2009.
