Ukraine was elected to the UN Human Rights Council

At a meeting of the UN General Assembly, Ukraine was elected by 177 votes to the UN Human Rights Council for 2018 to 2020, ass reported by the Ukrainian mission to the UN on Monday, October 16.

"By 177 votes, Ukraine has been elected a member of the UN Human Rights Council for 2018-2020." the Ukrainian mission stated on Twitter.

The annual report of the US State Department on human rights says that the largest number of human rights violations in Ukraine in 2016 were recorded in the Donbas and in the Crimea.
