Ukraine to pay $15.7 billion in foreign debt in 2019

Ukraine will have to pay $15.7 billion in foreign debt, the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reported. According to the NBU, Ukraine will pay $5.609 billion in the first quarter. In the second and third quarters, the amount of payments will fall to $3.608 billion and $3.919 billion, respectively. In the third quarter of 2019, Ukraine will have to pay $ 2.519 billion.

According to the NBU, the largest payment will be for non-banking sectors of economy and will reach $2.922 billion in this quarter and $6.401 for the entire year.

In 2019, payments will reach $5.017 billion, including $3.306 billion in the principal amount of the government debt and $843 million for the NBU debt, of which $595 million is for the principal amount.

It was reported earlier that Ukraine's gross external debt increased by $ 515 million and reached $114.7 billion. The Finance Ministry suggested that Ukraine should borrow about four billion dollars in 2018.

As of the end of 2018, Ukraine's national debt fell to 62.7% of GDP. As of December 31, 2018, Ukraine’s public and publicly guaranteed debt amounted to UAH 2.169 trillion, which is equivalent to $78.3 billion.
