Ukraine to include Russia in the list of countries with migration risk
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree introducing biometric controls for foreign citizens’ entry and exit. The decree also added the Russian Federation onto a list of countries with the migration risk.
According to the president’s decree, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine should work on this issue.
"The government was instructed to take measures in improving legislation on the registration of foreigners’ residence/visitation in Ukraine, including citizens of the Russian Federation and stateless persons originating from migratory risk countries, as well as those who entered Ukraine from such states,” the document states.
President Poroshenko has put the National Security and Defense Council decision on biometric control for foreigners on the border in effect as of 2018.
