Ukrainian President Zelensky wants to dismiss all governors

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky insists that all the chairmen of regional state administrations be dismissed, said his spokeswoman, Iuliia Mendel.

“In fact, the President of Ukraine insists that all governors should be dismissed. Now, we are talking about 13 (governors ) and the process of finding the professionals who can take over the regional administrations continues,” Mendel said, according to Radіo Svoboda.

She noted that international HR companies are participating in selecting the heads of the regional state administrations.

“In addition, it is desirable for these candidates to already have a plan, an understanding of who they will be working with in the field,” said Mendel.

On June 5, the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft presidential decrees on dismissing the heads of 13 regional state administrations: Volyn, Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi and Chernihiv.
