Ukrainian Prosecutor General: Russian aggression is 'a proven fact'

Ukrainan Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko stated that the Russian aggression against Ukraine today is already a legally proven fact and is the main cause of the loss of the Crimea and the southern Donbas.

He said this at the session of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defence on Friday, reporting on the results of the investigation of Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine.

"The experts’ conclusion is that the only causal fact resulting in the loss of territorial integrity of Ukraine, the occupation of a part of its territory, the death of thousands of soldiers and civilians – is the aggression of the Russian Federation. We should not engage ourselves in self-torment; in times of war an army must trust its commanders, but that does not mean that they have a complete indulgence," Lutsenko said.

"At this point, it is clearly ascertained that the key factor to the problems of Ukraine and Ukrainians is Russia and, namely, Moscow. And this is not just a statement, it is a legally proven fact," he concluded.

According to him, it is the conclusion of three dozen experts who are criminally responsible for their words. We will remind that the experts' conclusions also confirm treason by Ukraine’s top leadership, the collapse of the army, the non-fulfilment of orders and desertion, and military leadership mistakes.
