Ukrainian Entrepreneurs to Get Access to European Funding Program

The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers adopted a draft agreement on the participation of Ukraine in the European Union program "Competitiveness of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises” (COSME). The press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade indicated that Ukrainian small and medium businesses will have access to 2.3 billion euros.

"It will create an ocean of new opportunities for Ukrainian entrepreneurs. Firstly, it's assistance with entering foreign markets because the Ukrainian businessmen will be able to get professional advice and analysis, support of export-import operations and the expansion of trade and economic relations. Secondly, the entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to learn together with European business," the ministry explained.

The program includes the exchange of experience such as the "Erasmus for entrepreneurs" program that assumes funding for various sectoral conferences, workshops, seminars, exchange programs and internships.

Soon Ukrainian entrepreneurs will be able to take advantage of the great opportunities of the program which will enable them to seek partners and develop markets. In January, the COSME work program for 2016 will appear on the website of the European Commission, which will publish a list of all current opportunities for entrepreneurs and organizations involved in the support and development of small and medium-sized businesses.

On December 12, 2015, the Parliament adopted the law that reduces pressure on small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine.
