Two Russian bombers intercepted by British Air Force

Two Russian Tupolev Tu-160 strategic bombers were intercepted by the fighter jets of the British Air Force. The bombers flew near the British borders without entering the country's air space, the British Ministry of Defense reported on Twitter.

"We can confirm that quick reaction alert Typhoon aircraft from RAF Lossiemouth intercepted two Russian Blackjack bombers and escorted them while they were in the UK area of interest. At no point did the Russian aircraft enter UK territorial airspace", British Royal Air Force stated.

In February, in a similar incident, two Typhoon fighter jets intercepted Russian bombers en route to British borders.
