T-64BV tanks underwent modernization before Ukraine's participation in tank competitions in Germany
On May 7th, the International Strong Europe Tank Challenge began, as the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Facebook.
These competitions, jointly organized by the command of the US Army in Europe and the German Army, are held for the second year in a row at the German Grafenwoehr Training Area. Tankmen from six countries will compete for victory this year: the USA, Germany, France, Poland, Austria, and Ukraine.
On Monday, May 8th, the first stage of the competition begins, during which Ukrainian tankmen will train on an offensive against their American counterparts.
According to the official website of the State Enterprise Ukroboronprom, in order for Ukraine to participate in the Strong Europe Tank Challenge, a batch of T-64BV tanks was modernized at the Kharkov Armored Plant. They were equipped with thermal imaging cameras, digital radio stations, and satellite navigation.
