Strelkov: LPR leaders don't enjoy public confidence and popularity

The former Minister of Defense of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (LPR), Igor Girkin (Strelkov), strongly criticized the head of the unrecognized LPR (Luhansk People's Republic), Igor Plotnitsky, as written on Strelkov's  Vkontakte (Russian social media network) page. According to Strelkov, it is unknown whether there really was a coup in the LPR or whether Igor Plotnisky got all possible opponents in the so-called elections out of the race.

“Only one thing is clear; the authorities of the Luhansk People’s Republic don’t enjoy public confidence and popularity,” Strelkov noted.

The former Minister of Defense of the LPR believes that the authorities of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic are absolutely illegal from the standpoint of international law and will hold elections only with the help of reprisals, including arresting unwanted people for the illegal possession of firearms.

Strelkov said that in general the current events inn the LPR are a "farce and absurdity performed by miserable puppets from small local gangs".
