Separatist leader tells Savchenko not to come to the Donbas

The head of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic, Aleksandr Zakharchenko, warned Nadiya Savchenko not to visit the Donbas.

He said that he is not interested in engaging in any direct discussions with Savchenko regarding an exchange of the prisoners and advised her not to come to the Donbas, RIA Novosti reported.

"Why is she talking about the prisoner exchange? She wants to have a dialoged with us? I am not willing to have this dialogue with her. She is just an ordinary prisoner of war," Zakharchenko stated.

"If she comes to the front line, we will knock her off," the separatist leader added.

According to him, the Ukrainian authorities could purposely send Savchenko to the region to get rid of her.

"Because a dead Savchenko is better for Kiev than an alive [Savchenko]," he explained. "Then thousands of pilgrims will come to visit her grave and we will be the ones to blame for her death".
