Russian NTV journalists were not allowed to enter Estonia

Journalists from the Russian NTV Channel weren’t allowed to enter Estonia, where they were going for a press-tour at the invitation of the Tallin city government, according to the TV company's report. Alexey Kobylkov, a correspondent from NTV Channel, and cameraman Ilya Kondratyev were not allowed to cross at the Ivangorod checkpoint.

Employees of the TV channel were headed for a four-day press tour at the invitation of the Tallin city government, NTV Channel added. According to the TV company, the journalists were to go sightseeing in Tallin and visit the Art Museum of Estonia as well as the Estonian National Museum. “The deputy mayor of Tallin, Mihhail Kõlvart, was to meet them,” the statement says.

According to the journalists, the non-conformity of their tourist visas with the actual purpose of the visit (work) was cited as the reason for the denial of entry. In addition, RIA Novosti reported that journalists from Life78 TV Channel were also denied entry into Estonia.
