Poroshenko has phone conversation with Theresa May, invites her to visit Ukraine

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Theresa May, stated during a phone conversation with the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, that the UK’s position regarding sanctions against the Russian Federation remains unchanged. The sanctions will be extended until the Minsk agreements are fully implemented, the press-service of the President reports.

The Head of the British Government also expressed its strong commitment to a non-recognition policy for Russia’s annexation of Crimea.

They discussed issues of bilateral and international cooperation in terms of the UK's decision to leave the European Union. The President expressed gratitude to the British government for their unwavering support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Both parties expressed interest in enhancing economic cooperation between Ukraine and United Kingdom. In the course of the conversation, May and Poroshenko also discussed the continuation of British financial and expert assistance in the implementation of reforms in Ukraine and the training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Poroshenko congratulated May with her appointment as a Prime Minister and invited her to visit Ukraine.
