Poroshenko expressed his willingness to work with any potential Prime Minister

The President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, has announced an early election of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) and is ready to work with any potential Prime Minister. He said this in an interview with the Turkish channel TRT World, the Ukrainski Novini reported.

"The Parliament should consist of the coalition. The coalition must be a majority. Three fractions have left the coalition. In accordance with the Constitution, a new coalition should be formed and, most likely, a new Prime Minister appointed, or early parliamentary elections should be held. My opinion on this as a President and, remind you, only a President can declare early parliamentary elections, is that it will never happen!” he said.

The parliamentary political forces must find a solution, the President said. "However, it is the responsibility of the Parliament to find a solution: either to restore the old coalition, and I'll be happy to work with any Prime Minister, or to create a new coalition and propose another Prime Minister. I can take any choice of the Parliament," Poroshenko said.

He added that the Prime Minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, is a reformer. "I have a fantastic personal relationship with the Prime Minister. I believe that he is a reformer. I think he does an excellent job," Poroshenko said.

The key for the President is the need to continue reforms, fight against corruption and improve the efficiency of the authorities, he said during the interview.

In addition, Poroshenko expects positive news in this context in the near future.
