Kremlin: Russia is interested in a united Ukraine

Russian leadership is interested in Ukraine being a peaceful and predictable country within its internationally recognized borders, as stated by the Russian President's Press Secretary, Dmitry Peskov, on Russian TV Channel 24, on Saturday.

"Everybody has a common interest for the Minsk Agreements not to be an empty document. Russia is interested because, as President Putin has repeatedly stated, we want a stable, prosperous, friendly, predictable Ukraine because the people of our two countries are close. Russia is indeed interested in a peaceful, united Ukraine,” he said.

Replying to the clarifying question, "Within internationally recognized borders?", Peskov answered, "Certainly. Everybody is interested. It is very important that the Minsk Agreements be fully implemented."
