Kadyrov proposes shooting 'violators of the peace'

The Head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, proposed executing the violators of peace in the Republic at the meeting of the regional Government, Novaya Gazeta wrote. “Those who disturb peace in the Chechen Republic should be shot to hell. It doesn’t matter if it’s the law or not. If the issue concerns security, shoot the violators. Do you understand? As-salamu alaykum and everything is fine. That is what we call the law!” Ramzan Kadyrov said.

Novaya Gazeta quoted Kadyrov exactly from the report of the Chechen State and Radio broadcasting company Grozny on the 27th of September. However, soon afterwards the story was edited and the Chechen President’s proposal was cut from the final newscast. “However, it was too late: the audio record wound up in social media,” the edition explained. The evening newscast of Grozny TV Channel was published on YouTube.

The meeting was devoted to road safety in the Republic. Kadyrov criticized those who break traffic rules under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Earlier, the President proposed taking away the cars of violators. One and a half years ago, Kadyrov stated that law enforcement officers are allowed to shoot at security officers from other regions who conduct operations in the Republic without the corresponding authorization of local authorities.
