Hundreds of anti-Ukraine sites will be shut down

Deputy Minister of Information Policy Dmytro Zolotukhin said during his interview with ZIK channel that there are already hundreds of websites that must be shut down because of the threat they pose to Ukraine’s national interests. According to him, he received lists of sites recommended for closure and lists of sources that are already blocked from volunteers.

“That means that the lists already exist... I will not disclose the number of such sites. There are hundreds of sites, which means they sent a lot of information but not the fact that there are grounds [for closing] everywhere. Now we will carefully analyze this information because there are certain gaps in the Ukrainian legislation, in the mechanism of its implementation. And we now want to analyze very carefully what it is. The names of the sites have not been disclosed in order to avoid causing hysteria and speculation, especially from the pro-Russian media,” reported Zolotukhin.

He also believes that the process of publishing the list of sites cannot be inclusive. “So we first want to consult with authorities in the media community to hear them, the voice of the public, and how they evaluate it,” the Deputy Minister added.

Zolotukhin also stressed that Ukraine has certain obligations to the international community, especially in light of the international treaties and conventions that it signed. “And now we must not step over the line and slide into an undemocratic approach. We are doing everything very gradually,” he clarified.

Earlier, the Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, Yuriy Stets said that the "black list" of the sites will be first coordinated with the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine), and then the collected materials will be transferred to the court.
