Herashchenko: Brexit will have a negative impact on Ukraine

According to the First Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, Irina Herashchenko, the UK’s decision to leave the EU will have a negative impact on Ukraine, Evropeyskaya Pravda reported.

Herashechenko wrote on her Facebook page that the results on the UK’s national referendum, in which 52% voted to leave the European Union, will delay the introduction of a visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU.

"The consequences of the British referendum will have a negative impact on Ukraine. The EU barely passing the test of the migration crisis, Europe has been covered in the tsunami of euroscepticism, there is growing support for radical and populist parties. Could this delay the visa-free regime? Yes, unfortunately. Now the EU will be overly cautious,” she wrote.

According to Herashchenko, domestic issues are forcing EU leaders to focus on the situation within the European Union, closing their eyes to everything else happening in the world.

However, she stressed that Ukraine expects European to extend sanctions against Russia.
