EU sanctions against Crimea extended

On Friday, the EU Council extended sanctions against the Crimea, according to a report released by the Council.

The sanctions, which were due to expire next Thursday, are now set to expire on June 17th, 2017.

The sanctions include a ban on exporting EU goods to the Crimea as well as investing in the Peninsula and operating tourist services.

It is expected that sanctions against Russia will be extended for its annexation of the Crimea and its role in the war in eastern Ukraine.
