MP: Rebellion in Ukraine was disrupted by special services and people on social networks

The Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and advisor to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Anton Herashchenko, stated that in late Autumn of last year, “people’s uprisings” could have been organized but were disrupted due to the actions of Ukrainian Special Services and ordinary citizens who “resisted Russia’s propaganda” on social networks.

“The goals of the Shatun (Rocker) movement – the people’s uprising against Ukrainian authorities in November - have not been reached. This operation was disrupted both by brave people in social networks who provided information to people and also by the Special Services of Ukraine,” he said on Channel 112 Ukraine.

Herashchenko noted that such attempts to overthrow the Government in Ukraine will continue until Ukrainians “defeat Russian propaganda.”

Earlier, the State Security Service of Ukraine stated that the Russian Federation was preparing an operation that will cause “massive destabilization of the situation” in the country. It was set to begin on 15 November 2016. The office is calling the operation “to destabilize Ukraine” the Shatun (Rocker) plan.

During the last week, Anton Herashchenko has received wide popularity not only in Ukraine but also outside its borders after the arrest of two Ukrainian citizens who allegedly prepared to kill him following commands from a “center located in Russia.”
