Ukraine wins Eurovision
Ukrainian Singer Jamala has won the Eurovision contest. Her performance of song “1944” received 534 points bringing her to the top of the competition. The second place was taken by Australian Singer Dami Im, 511 points.Russian contestant, Sergey Lazarev, took the third spot scoring 491 points.Jamala’s song was dedicated to the deportation of Crimean Tatars by Soviet authorities in 1944.

NATO to hold military exercises in Poland
As reported by Radio Poland, NATO rapid response exercises Brilliant Jump will take place in the Żagań and Świętoszów training ranges from May 17th to May 27th.This is one in a series of NATO exercises “designed to prove the concept of NATO’s Readiness Action Plan (RAP) and at the same time to put to the test all its core elements, including the NATO Command Structure (NCS) and a number of Headquarters throughout Europe.”

RIA Novosti reported that a group of Italian MPs arrived in the occupied Crimea for a three-day visit. During the visit, the members of the delegation will visit Sevastopol, Yalta and Simferopol. Turkey supports creating OSCE police mission in the Donbas

Germany suspects Russian involvement in a series of cyber-attacks
The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution of Germany, which deals with counter-intelligence activities, suspects that Russian special services are responsible for a series of cyber-attacks against German government agencies, DW reported.
