    In the prisons, penal colonies and pre-trial detention centers in the self-declared Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), there are hundreds of Russians who took part in the armed conflict in the Donbas on the militia’s side, according to an article in Novaya Gazeta.

    On July 31, Alexander Hamburg, the German lawyer for Russian businessman Andrey Kovalchuk told DW that his client was extradited from Germany to Russia before they were able to appeal the court’s decision.     First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and Ukraine's representative in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on the Donbas issue, Iryna Herashchenko reported that a priest was not allowed to visit the convicted filmmaker Oleh Sentsov in Russia, who is on the 79th day of his hunger strike in prison.   • Russia threatens to respond to EU sanctions against the builders of Crimean Bridge

    European companies working in Russia may be affected by the sanctions of the European Union imposed against the Russian companies involved in the construction of the Bridge to the Crimea, said  the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement published on the Ministry's website.
