OSCE SMM patrol comes under fire near Donetsk
On August 16, observers of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission came under fire on the outskirts of th settlement of Holmivskyi, which is 49 kilometers northeast of Donetsk, reported the mission’s press-service.

Kremlin: new Ukrainian sanctions against Russia would be a violation of international law
The imposition of sanctions against Russia by Ukraine will be considered “a blatant violation of rules of international law,” stated the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

Ukrainian prosecutors asks for 15-year sentence for Yanukovych
The Military Prosecutor's Office of the Central Region of Ukraine asked the court to sentence the country’s ex-President Viktor Yanukovych to fifteen years imprisonment on charges of state treason, Channel 112 Ukraine reports.

Estonia approves €190 million construction project of the border with Russia
The Estonian Government finally approved the €190 million construction project on the border with Russia, ERR news outlet reports. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
