  • NATO exercise Agile Spirit 2019 to be held in Georgia in the summer

    Over 3,000 military personnel from NATO member states and their partner countries will participate in the Agile Spirit 2019 Multinational Military Exercises to be held in Georgia from July 27 to August 9.

    The exercises will be held under joint leadership of the Georgian Armed Forces and European Command of the US Armed Forces. Organizers will reveal the extent of military equipment and hardware involved at the final planning conference in Tbilisi in May.

  • Bulgaria discovers scheme to withdraw money from Venezuela

    The Bulgarian government has uncovered a scheme to illegally withdraw funds from Venezuela, Bulgarian local media reported, citing a statement by the country’s Prosecutor General, Sotir Tsatsarov. 

    According to Tsatsarov, millions of euros belonging to the Venezuelan state-owned oil company PDVSA have been transferred to bank accounts in Bulgaria. PDVSA is currently under US sanctions.

    On Wednesday, a group of US senators put forward a bill that envisages additional sanctions against Russia in response to “Russian interference in the operation of democratic institutes abroad” and for its aggression in Ukraine.

  • Germany to build terminals for liquefied gas from the US

    Germany intends to build at least two terminals capable of receiving imported liquefied natural gas, said German Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Peter Altmaier, at the German-American conference in Berlin, reports Der Spiegel.

  • Russia: joint US-Ukraine military exercises in the Black Sea 'a dangerous idea'

    Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin stated that Russia considers the joint exercises “Sea Breeze” which are held by Ukraine and the United States to be dangerous.

    US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker stated on Twitter that Russia has long been violating the Minsk Agreements without cease.
