Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev described as a "joke" the words of the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, who invited Kazakhstan to join the Union State of Russia and Belarus in order to have access to nuclear weapons.

Russia sends more troops to Kazakhstan
Russia is sending 75 aircraft with "peacekeepers" of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to Kazakhstan, reports RIA Novosti.
Russian military transport aircraft are flying from airfields in the Moscow, Ivanovo and Ulyanovsk regions, reports Ukrainska Pravda.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ordered security forces to open fire on "criminals" without warning.

Russia deploys troops to Kazakhstan
Russia has sent airborne troops to Kazakhstan as part of "the peacekeeping force" from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), reports Interfax, citing the CSTO statement.
