Poland plans to install observation towers along eastern border
Poland’s Head of the Border Service, Marek Lapinsky, reported that Poland has 25 observation towers set up along its border but has made plans to install 23 more along its eastern perimeter.
"From 2016-2022 we plan to restore and develop the system of the technical control and surveillance of the state border. This applies mostly to system of the observation towers situated in the immediate vicinity of the border. Today we use 25 towers and all of them should be 48" he said.

Russia and Poland Agree on a Temporary Resumption of Freight Transit
According to the agreement between Warsaw and Moscow, Polish and Russian freight carriers will be given 20,000 transport permits, which will be valid until April 15th.

Poland opens fresh probe into plane crash that killed President Kaczynski in 2010
Poland has resumed the investigation of the Tu-154 plane crash that occurred near Smolensk in April of 2010 that killed Polish President Lech Kaczynski. This was announced on the 4th of February by the Minister of Defense of Poland, Antoni Macierewicz. Polish Oil and Gas Company Files Lawsuit against Gazprom
Polish oil and gas company, PGNiG, has filed a lawsuit in the Court of Arbitration in Stockholm against Gazprom, according to a statement on Monday, February 1st. In May of 2015, PGNiG notified the Russian company of the pending arbitration.

Joint Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian Brigade to be ready in 2017
A ceremony was held in Lublin to mark the beginning of the Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian brigade, as reported by web portal TVN 24.
