    The extradition procedure of the illegally imprisoned Ukrainian pilot, Nadia Savchenko, may begin by mid-March.  This was stated by Savchenko’s lawyer, Mark Feygin, in an interview for Apostrophe.  Savchenko is currently imprisoned in Russia.

  • Sevastopol's electricity problems continue

    The city of Sevastopol is supplied with just 190 MW of electricity each day, which is insufficient during peak periods in the mornings and in the evenings.  This was stated by a technical director at PJSC: EC Sevastopolenergo, Viktor Shulzhenko, at a meeting to discuss plans for eliminating the consequences of electricity emergencies.  This was reported on the city's website.

    Eleven trucks carrying humanitarian aid for residents in Donetsk, which is currently under control of pro-Russian separatists, have crossed through a Ukrainian checkpoint in the Donetsk region, as reported by Radio Svoboda.

  • Two Ukrainian political prisoners held in Russia transferred from Rostov Detention Center

    Ukrainian film director, Oleg Sentsov, and anti-fascist Ukrainian activist, Olexandr Kolchenko, were transferred from the Rostov Detention Center on the 4th of February. According to available information, Sentsov is in Samara now awaiting transfer to the Irkutsk region, where he will serve his sentence. Kolchenko is in Voronezh awaiting transfer to the Chelyabinsk region.
