Russian-backed separatists opened fire on Ukrainian positions more than 50 times on Saturday, as stated by the Ukrainian Armed Forces press center on Sunday morning, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

As of 18:00 local time on Thursday, Ukrainian positions had been fired on 50 times throughout the day by pro-Russian separatists in the Donbas, according to the Ukrainian Armed Force’s Facebook page.

Ukrainian positions fired on 32 times on Wednesday
According to the press center of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as of 18:00 local time, Ukrainian positions had been fired on 32 times on Wednesday, Interfax reported.
"During the day the intensity of the use of weapons by Russian militants against Ukrainian soldiers was high in the zone of the ATO [Donbas region] where 32 cases of ceasefire violations were recorded,” the press center reported on its Facebook page.

Separatist Commander: We are in a difficult situation in Avdiivka
Alexander Khodakovsky, the commander of the separatist Vostok battalion, says that in many ways the fighting in the Avdiivka industrial zone can be compared to the battle for the Donetsk Airport*, though the current situation is unique.

Separatist commander acknowledges heavy losses near Avdiivka
The founder of the Vostok separatist battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky, acknowledged that 13 in his unit were killed and 90 were wounded between March 7th and April 7th.

Ukrainian Armed Forces expect separatist assault on government-held Avdiivka
The fighting around Avdiivka in eastern Ukraine has intensified in recent days, and, according to journalist Roman Bochkala, separatist groups are preparing a major assault on Ukrainian positions.
