Finland summons Russian ambassador over violation of country’s airspace by Russian plane

Russian ambassador Pavel Kuznetsov was summoned to the Finnish Foreign Ministry after the Ministry of Defense of Finland suspected a Russian plane of violating Finnish airspace,as  stated in the message of the Finnish Foreign Ministry on Twitter.

"The Russian Ambassador was informed about the alleged incident with a request for clarification," the message says.

According to the Finnish Defense Ministry, the incident refers to a passenger or cargo Tu-154. The Finnish border service launched an investigation into the incident.

In early November, the National Armed Forces of Latvia reported that two Russian Su-27 fighters were spotted near the state sea border.

In late November, the Pentagon accused a Russian Su-30 fighter of the "unsafe" interception of the US P-8 Poseidon patrol anti-submarine aircraft in the skies over the Black Sea. According to the Pentagon, the Su-30 flew 50 feet (15.2 m) from the P-8 Poseidon. "Unsafe actions can cause serious harm and injury to all air crews involved in the incident," the Pentagon noted.

In response, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that the Su-30 "helped the American colleagues avoid an international scandal that would have been caused by a violation of the Russian border by American side."
