• Latvia detects Russian warships and fighter jets near its borders

    Several aircraft and ships of the Russian Armed Forces were seen near the borders of Latvia yesterday, August 9, the National Armed Forces of Latvia reported on Twitter.

    NATO patrol aircraft discovered two Russian Su-27 fighter jets over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea near the territorial waters of Latvia. An An-26 military transport aircraft was also detected.

  • Polish commission: Left wing of crashed President Kaczynski's plane shows traces of explosion

    A Polish commission, which is engaged in a second investigation of the Smolensk disaster, said that there are traces of an explosion on the left wing of the aircraft.

    This was stated by the press secretary of the commission, Marta Palenek, as reported by Polish news agency RMF24.

  • Russian reconnaissance plane flies over Washington

    On Wednesday 9th of August the Capital Police alerted the public that an "authorised low-altitude aircraft" would fly in restricted airspace between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. The message stated that the aircraft "will be large and may fly directly over the U.S. Capitol."
