Ukraine tests new mobile mortar system

The Ukrainian Army has tested a new 120 mm mobile mortar system Bars-8MMK which uses automated deployment and fire control systems, stated the press service of the National Security Council.

The new mobile mortar system was created on the basis of the “Bars-8” armored vehicle, which allows it to quickly move to the required firing position. The crew of the mobile system consists of only three people. The system needs about a minute to be deployed and prepared for firing and only 20 seconds to leave the position.

One of the advantages of the Bars-8MMK is its ability to integrate with any information management system of the highest level of command and control of troops, including those used in NATO.

Oleksandr Turchynov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, said that after the tests are completed and the system is adopted, it will be used by the Land Forces, Air Assault Forces, and Special Operations Forces.
