Ukrainian Armed Forces receive 16 modernized tanks and five new armored vehicles

Ukrainian Armed Forces received modernized tanks T-80 and T-64BV and the new model of military trucks. A celebratory ceremony took place upon receiving weapons and military equipment for the Armed Forces. The ceremony took place during the visit of National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov to the defense enterprise in Kharkiv, reported the press service of the NSDC.

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council visited Kharkiv’s design and engineering bureau at Morozov factory and armored plant at Malyshev factory. At the production centers, he became acquainted with the work of new technological lines to produce modern tanks and armored vehicles.

Turchynov, on behalf of the president, handed over 16 T-64 and T-80 tanks, which were restored in Kharkiv armored factory as well as five new BTR-4 to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The NSDC secretary noted that in 2018 the production and modernization of equipment for the Ukrainian army will be fast-tracked. This year alone, the Ukrainian defense enterprises produced and upgraded more than 2,000 weapons and military technology.
